Conway, South Carolina – The Coastal Carolina women’s basketball team returns this week to the Sun Belt Conference against James Madison (January 26) and Old Dominion Monarchs (January 28). Thursday night’s tip-off for her JMU is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET, and Coastal and ODU will meet in Norfolk, VA at 2 p.m. Saturday.
The Chanticleers are 9-10 overall this season and 4-4 in Sun Belt conference play after splitting the conference road contest last week. 500 for the first time since the 2019-20 season with a 68-57 win last Thursday, but he couldn’t hold on Saturday with an 81-74 loss at Appalachian State.

App State turned momentum in their favor in the third quarter as he outscored the Chanticleers 22-6, including his 23-1 run to close out the period. Despite outscoring the Mountaineers in the final quarter, the Coastal were unable to come back, losing 81–74 to the home side. Juste-Jean scored his team-leading 21 points and Blount scored his 19.

The two teams will meet for the third time on Thursday, with Coastal losing 2-0 to the Dukes in the longest time series ever. The last time the two teams met, JMU started the season with a 77–56 win at home to the Sunbelts in December.

Coastal Carolina and ODU have never met in hardwood, so the two teams will meet for the first time on Saturday. Monarchs attended the Sunbelt conference this year.

Kiki Jefferson leads the team with 17.8 points per game, while Peyton McDaniel and Ksenia Kozlova are scoring 12.6 and 10.5 points per game respectively.
