  • McGill started hot and scored the first four points of the game, but Drexel could not take the lead with an 11–0 run in response. Evans made his two free throws to cut the deficit to 11-6 with 4:37 left in the first quarter, but the Dragons scored 6 of his 8 points in the final of this period. Scored and he took a 17-8 lead in the second quarter.
  • Both teams bounced back and forth over the first five minutes of the second quarter, with neither scoring any runs. It proved to be Elon’s final field goal of the quarter as the Dragons finished the period with a 7-2 run to take a 46-37 lead.
  • After both teams scored on their first fourth quarter possession, Washington went on a 5-0 run to put Drexel up 53-39. James snapped a run with a three-pointer a few minutes later to start a 10-2 run with 2:19 remaining to bring Elon back within six of him, but the Dragons won on his 6-0 run. Finished the game.


  • McGill’s three-game scoring streak equals her longest season record. The Alumni Center kicked off the year with three straight double-digit games against Wake Forest, North Carolina, and High Point.
  • Evans scored in double figures for the 12th time this season to tie Preston for the team lead.
  • James went 3-5 on 3-pointers to end Phoenix’s two-game road trip 5-8.

  • Drexel won the board battle 35-28. Elon’s 28 rebounds were his second-lowest this season, and his offensive board with 6 was his lowest.
  • Phoenix had the second-lowest 10 turnovers this season. Elon is averaging 11.5 turnovers over his last 4 games. He entered the stretch averaging 20.1 turnovers in his first 17 games.


  • Phoenix will return to the Shah Center on Friday at 7pm to host North Carolina A&T. Then visit the University of Charleston on Sunday at 2pm.
