Sacramento center Trey Lyles looked sharp as he shot his 6-for-8 from downtown with 24 points and he finished on 7 boards. Lyles wasn’t helping his team much last Saturday against the Philadelphia 76ers, so this was a good turn for him. Lyles’ point was the best he scored all year.
Meanwhile, Toronto beat the New York Knicks 125-116 on Sunday. Toronto relied on the efforts of point guard Fred VanVleet, who scored 28 points, and small forward Scotty Barnes, who had 19 points, six assists and seven rebounds.
The Kings are expected to win this easily, but they should have also easily beaten the Charlotte Hornets on December 19, slipping down 125-119 instead. In other words, don’t count the Raptors yet.
