The former NFL reversed Ariane Foster’s comments about the league’s “script”, with fans and some players teasing the claim on Wednesday.
Foster, co-host of the conspiracy theory podcast “Macrodosing,” along with Barstool Sports’ PFT commenter, said in a recent episode that he and his team are “dedicated” to the league-provided scripts. .
“That was the practice. It was to practice the script. This is going on and this is what we have to do,” said Foster.
“It’s like WWF, so it seems like we know what’s going to happen, but we still have to put on the show.”
Nonetheless, other users chose to downplay Foster’s remarks, as players such as former Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III joined those who mocked the allegations.
“Read the end of the 2012 script,” Griffin wrote, referring to injuries sustained at the end of the 2012 season and playoffs.
Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons also used the “scripted” joke to refer to his team’s recent loss.
“I might show you the playoff script!!” Parsons wrote.
Twitter users also joked about other NFL players following the “script” over the years.
