Mondesi has a number of injuries and doesn’t seem to be staying healthy, but he’s far better than a butt like Kiki Hernandez.
Bloom’s track record is terrible so I don’t give it much credit, but if dummy Cora decides he’s the SS he needs and hits top in front of Yoshida, this is a great move on his part. If Mondesi gets on, he can steal, and Yoshida’s double can score from first base.
Honestly, this is what I’m most excited about since Bloom arrived. If Mondesi is healthy, he could be a future SS. Mayer could finally solve Devers’ problems if he could move to 3B and hit at his level in the major leagues.
This could have a big impact on WINS (JoeBrady) !! Much better than if you were at the top.
I’ve always appreciated the value of Bloom’s deal, but I want to give him credit for this deal because Mondesi has so much potential compared to what Boston gave up. It should also motivate Cora to put Kiki at the bottom of his order and play in the outfield.
