    BOSTON (AP) — Adam Duvall and the Boston Red Sox signed a one-year, $7 million deal on Tuesday.

    Veteran outfielders can earn an additional $3 million performance bonus based on plate appearances. The two sides agreed on terms last week, pending a physical examination.

    To make room for Duvall on a 40-man roster, Boston cut former closer Matt Barnes, a 2021 All-Star and a key member of the Red Sox’s bullpen for most of his nine-year career. .
