Historically speaking, the Green Bay Packers are one of the most frequently compensatory draft picks in the NFL. Since the start of Ted Thompson’s tenure as general manager, the Packers have rarely signed outside unrestricted free agents that fit the NFL’s compensatory draft pick system, while mid-level and high-paying internal free agents have seldom signed. Reed and Patrick both receive round 6 values, so the two players cancel each other out.
