New York Mets News: Depth Signs to Watch
The Mets have reportedly signed first baseman Dariel Gomez to a minor league deal, adding some depth to the position and potential pop.
Gomez led the Northwest League with 26 home runs last season and played for the Seattle Mariners organization’s High A team. It was his second season for the 26-year-old Gomez to play for the High A’s.
His time with the Mariners organization ended on November 10 when he elected free agency. Gomez joins the Mets organization not only to get promoted, but also to find ways to reduce his strikeouts (he batted .222/.321/.472 last season, so in 409 at-bats he batted 163). number of strokes.

MLB News: Big “what if” between Seattle Mariners and Houston Astros
According to this United States of America today According to an article by MLB Insider Bob Nightingale, Houston’s hiring of Dana Brown as the team’s general manager and then teaming up with manager Dusty Baker would have happened in Seattle seven years ago if circumstances had been different. It is possible that
Nightengale wrote that Brown interviewed for the Mariners’ general manager position in 2015 and said that if he got the job, he would hire Dusty Baker as the team’s manager. However, Seattle hired Jerry DiPoto as general manager and changed the timeline for both the Mariners and Astros.
History may have certainly been different at the AL West, but Brown and Baker will finally team up in Houston to see how the Astros can work together to win again as World Series champions.
