The last time Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green took the court, he played one of the worst games of his young career.
He more than made up for it against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday. Green scored his career-high 42 points in the Rockets’ win and had a 13-game losing streak.
“It feels good,” Green said. “The players turned to me, the coaches turned to me. We needed it. We wanted it. We came out and executed.”
Green, the No. 2 pick in the 2021 draft, had 13 points on 3-of-13 shooting in Saturday’s loss to the Timberwolves. He scored his 10 points on the Rockets’ decisive 13-4 run late in the fourth quarter.
“My goal is to be one of the best players in the NBA. I’m trying to learn as much as I can to stay on track.”
– Damian Lillard had 37 points and 12 assists for the Portland Trail Blazers against the San Antonio Spurs. With this performance, the Blazers went on his third straight losing streak.
– DeMar DeRozan capped his 1,000th career game with 26 points in the Chicago Bulls’ 111-100 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.
– Domantas Sabonis had his sixth triple-double of the season in the Sacramento Kings’ big win over the Memphis Grizzlies. He finished with 14 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds.
– Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 20 of 29 points in the first quarter as the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Detroit Pistons.
