The Dallas Mavericks have the longest winning streak of seven in the Western Conference, just 2.5 games behind the No. 1 seed Denver Nuggets.
The winning streak came through Luka Doncic’s heroism, which the league recognized by awarding him its second consecutive Player of the Week award. But where do the Mavs sit on Sports Illustrated’s power rankings this week?
Despite the team’s hot streak, the Mavs only moved up one spot from 10th to 9th in this week’s rankings.
“The Mavericks won four last week, extended their winning streak to seven games on Monday, overcame an 18-point second-half deficit to beat the Rockets,” SI wrote. “Luka Doncic, the league’s leading scorer (34.3 points per game this season), averaged 48.7 points in three games for the Mavs last week, earning him Western Conference Player of the Week honors.
