Ithaca, New York – Ithaca University Men’s Soccer Head Coach Garrett Eldridge announced the hiring of Liam McCarthy as its new assistant coach for next season. McKersie will officially begin his appointment at Ithaca on February 6th.
McCarthy comes to South Hill after spending the past two seasons at Emerson College as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. The Lions finished his season regular as the No. 2 seed in NEWMAC this fall, before achieving his most successful season in program history, 10-3-6, and ultimately falling to his NEWMAC championship. rice field.
He also worked as an Assistant Coach at Chatham University from 2019-2021 and has a Master’s Degree in Psychology. McCarthy was a four-year member of his college men’s football team at Allegheny and captained him for two years, and in 2018 he was named second team he’s all-he NCAC. .
