The Las Vegas Raiders will take a closer look at some prospects at Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama next week.
With Raiders defensive coordinator Patrick Graham serving as the varsity’s head coach, he was one of the first draft picks at a glance at potential prospects the team might select in the 2023 NFL Draft. It also includes defensive players who may slip into late rounds. .
In the meantime, we’re working with SI’s Draft Bible to get an update on potential linebacker prospects the Raiders might consider drafting.
“We will continue to find players who fit what we are looking for and continue to build this team with our vision. At the same time, our goal is to win football games. It’s about improving,” Raiders general manager Dave Ziegler said.
Safety, Daniel Scott, California
“An instinctive box player who thinks quickly and reacts quickly,” says Scott’s Draft Bible. “Length and frame suitable for the position.”
At 6-2 and weighing 215 pounds, Safety was named the third team’s All-Pack 12 by Pro Football Focus.
The Cal Bear has archetypal size and strength for next-level strong safety, with versatility for the entire defense.
“Scott is an instinctive box-safety, jumping around and playing within his parameters. It is restricted for
Too often he played out of control, aiming for big hits instead of securing tackles.
I’m sure he won’t do that at the next level.
We see him come in and compete for playing time in a sub-package that requires a more defensive back covering a deeper zone, a staple of Graham’s defense (Cover 6).
“I’m the type of guy who keeps his head down, works and plays as hard as he can, and lets his play do the talking,” Scott said, hoping his style of play could take him to the next level. I’m here.
“If I get that shot, great.
Scott, who is expected to be selected on Day 3, draws optimism from four former safety teammates who have been drafted in the past two years.
If he shows up at Reese’s Senior Bowl, don’t be surprised to hear the Raiders call his name on draft day.
