While making these claims, “The Pretty Boy” forgot about promising Shakur Stevenson, a two-division world champion who has a lot in common with Mayweather. The duo first crossed paths in 2016 when Mayweather visited Rio de Janeiro to cheer on the Newark native. When he saw Stevenson fighting, he said. “I see the next Floyd Mayweather. If anyone can beat my record, this young kid here can do it. I really believe in him.”
