Eddie Hahn has revealed he’s been talking to Francis Ngannou since he left the UFC last month, hinting at a super fight between the mixed martial arts star and Anthony Joshua.
Ngannou’s devastating knockout power has made him one of the biggest names in the UFC over the past five years, but MMA promotion has failed to meet the Cameroonian’s contract demands and he has lost the heavyweight title. I gave up and left the company in January.
Ngannou, 36, has long hinted at a move to professional boxing, and Hahn said at MMA Hour on Wednesday (February 1) that he would like to further such a venture.
Regarding his discussion with Ngannou, Khan said:
“He’s got new waters to navigate now. He’s in the Wild West of boxing, much more difficult than the worlds of MMA and UFC. Let’s see what happens.
“For my part, I want to be involved in his career. The Anthony Joshua fight is probably one of the biggest fights ever in any sport. Obviously, the Tyson Fury fight is also for him.
“I was pretty fascinated by him. I’m not a huge MMA fan, but I still admire what he achieved there. But I found him to be an outstanding gentleman.” rice field.”
Ngannou went 12-2 in a seven-year stint in the UFC, winning 10 of them by knockout. These stops occurred in the first or second round respectively, and in his first minute he achieved four stops.
Elaborating on a possible clash between “The Predator” and Joshua, Hahn, who plans to return to boxing in the coming months, added:
“They are [MMA] In terms of the challenge of fighting an elite boxer, guys have mountains to climb, but they have to go through the process of doing two or three bouts…the unknown.
“What happens when two martial arts giants collide? UFC Heavyweight World Champion Ngannou and two-time World Heavyweight Boxing Champion Joshua are a total unknown. [It’s] Unknowns: How good is Ngannou?
“I know he punches very hard. If he lands one on Joshua, is it the biggest upset of all time? Or does AJ completely overwhelm him and watch Ngannou get knocked out?” See? That’s the charm of that battle, the unknown.
