have understood, now She can be called the greatest Duke women’s soccer player of all time.
Michelle Cooper was named winner of the 2022 MAC Herman Trophy on Friday evening, becoming the first Blue Devil to win in the women’s soccer program’s 35-year history. He became the first Duke player to win the title since Andrew Wegner in 2004. She led the Power 5 and finished second nationally in both goals and points despite missing time to the season opener.
All three Harman Trophy finalists are from ACC, with Notre Dame’s Corbyn Albert and Florida State University’s Jenna Nicewonger finishing runner-up.
Cooper’s trophy adds to a collection that includes the 2022 ACC Offensive Player of the Year award and back-to-back First Team All-America nods. She announced her intentions to leave Duke last month to enter the professional ranks and recently declared the NWSL Draft. Cooper is likely heading to Gotham FC with the No. 2 pick, as Thompson declared the draft on Friday.
