    Cleveland, Ohio – The Cleveland State women’s basketball team returned to the Ulstein Center on Friday night in the new year with a 74-56 win over Purdue-Fort Wayne. With the win, the Vikings remained perfect in #HLWBB play where she went 5-0, but during the season she improved to 14-1, extending the winning streak to her 14th straight.

    · Destiny Leo and Amele Ngwafang both scored 16 points in the game, with Brittni Moore adding 14 points.
    · Amele Ngwafang had a team-high 15 rebounds to help the Vikings maintain a 42-33 advantage on the board against Purdue Fort Wayne.
    · As a team, the Vikings had 18 assists on 27 field goals. This includes five goals for Barbara Zieniewska and his three goals for Amerengwafan and Destiny Leo.
    · Cleveland State recorded 45% shots off the floor in the game (27-59), including a .588 clip in the first quarter (10-17).
    The Vikings maintained their 42-14 lead in points in the paint.

    After starting the contest with an 11-0 run, the Vikings extended their lead to 24-5 after the first quarter and continued to hold a 39-17 advantage at the halftime break.

    In the first half, Amelengwaphan led the Vikings with 10 points and 6 rebounds in just 10 minutes of play, while Destiny Leos finished the first two quarters with 8 points and 4 steals.

    The Vikings were then able to withstand a third-quarter run from Purdue Fort Wayne, going into the final ten minutes of play with a 54-36 lead.

    A Jordana Raisma layup put the Vikings on the board first to start the final quarter and extend Cleveland State’s lead to 20 points, 56–36. The two teams then traded baskets on the next few possessions, with back-to-back baskets from Brittni Moore putting the Vikings up 62-43 at the 6:01 mark.

    The Vikings then maintained control until the end of the 4th quarter, winning 75-56 and remaining flawless in Horizon League play.
