Highlights: With 14 points in the fourth quarter, Upper Merion beat Faith Christian in the Viking Holiday Tournament. Levayda Furqua scored his game-high nine points in his Merion upper, as all scorers were held to his single digits. Faith Christian said he was held to 1 in the first quarter before he jumped to 10 in the second and trailed 11-10 at halftime.
Highlights: Jaina Preus (29) and Lucy Diamico (25) combined for a combined 54 points in a contest of high-scoring performers in a non-league win over the Trojans on Thursday. Tamia Jarrett played her role in Pottstown, knocking down her six 3-pointers in a 23-point game.
HIGHLIGHTS: Anna Kroll scored 14 and Katie Yoder scored 13 as the Rams won the Boyertown Holiday Tournament (6-4). Karlie Schweitzer scored her nine and Hannah Adamski scored her seven (2-8).
Highlights: A victory over North Schuylkill in State College’s Holiday Hardwood Tournament improved Perchiomen Valley to a 9-0 record this season. Maddy Wetzel scored 24 points alongside two other North Schuylkill scorers in double figures, but 21 points in the first quarter set the tone for the Vikings to survive the win. Quinn Bottinger added 23 points at Perchiomen Valley and Grace Galbaby added 22 points.
Bethlehem Holiday Classic >> Springford’s Cole Smith finished second, while Boyertown’s Luke Heinbach and Gavin Sheridan finished third. Smith beat Heimbach 6-0 in the 114-pound semi-final on Thursday morning and then McKayden in the championship match against Spies (Wilson West on his loan) where he went 4-3. was defeated.
Heimbach won the bronze medal with a 1-0 win over Isaac Williams (Quakertown). Sheridan was pinned by Seamus Mack (Hempfield) in the 127-pound semi-final, but Benjamin Fanelli (Easton) in the third-place playoff saw him beat him 4–1.
