Alexis Vega delivered a breakout performance against Mexico at the 2022 FIFA World Cup And there was a slim chance of him leaving Chivas during the winter transfer window. The 25-year-old is under contract with the Guadalajara-based team until the summer of 2024, and his market value is close to $10 million.
Vega plans to stay
The good news for Chivas and his fans is that the 25-year-old has said he will remain with the Liga MX side ahead of the start of the Clausura 2023 tournament starting in January. Vega said it wasn’t the right time to consider a move to Europe and he didn’t want to arrive at the team mid-season.
“You may come back in six months or a year, just rushing to fulfill your dream of playing in Europe. One team we spoke with wanted to take me to Europe. So I played there for six months [at the highest level] and if it doesn’t work, Returning to another Liga MX team on loan.
“I don’t see the point of playing six months, how long it takes to adapt to the pressure and adapt in the best possible way. Because of that situation, you make the decision to rush the process. Right now I am concentrating on sea bass. I am very happy to be here with my family for a long time,” Vega said. TUDN.
