Head coach Kevin Stefanski confirms Jarvis Landry will miss out on time for the Cleveland Browns.
Even minimum time without Landry is a substantial blow to the Browns offense as receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is week-to-week and has yet to play this season as he recovers from ACL surgical treatment. Landrys replacement on Sunday was Rashard Higgins who had just 2 receptions for 27 lawns in the 31-21 win over the Houston Texans.
The Browns have a couple of options to fill in at the position in Week 3, theyre going to need Landry to recover rapidly if quarterback Baker Mayfield desires to have success through the air this season.
Looking ahead, the next two challengers for the browns are the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings. Luckily for the Browns, both NFC North groups have beatable secondaries that shouldnt position any major obstacle for Cleveland even without their finest receivers.
If they can get Landry (and preferably Beckham Jr.) back before Week 5 versus the Chargers, they ought to remain in respectable shape.
According to Ian Rapoport, the injury sustained is minor and Landry should not miss more than 3 weeks.
#Browns coach Kevin Stefanski informed reporters that WR Jarvis Landry has an MCL sprain and is week-to-week. Its reasonably small, so seems like 2-3 weeks.
