It would benefit Minnesota to have a more similar split between Osborn and Westbrook. He had some clutch catches and appeared poised throughout a hard video game, however Westbrook has a speed and explosiveness that might elevate the Vikings offense that appeared slow against the Bengals.

3 Minnesota Vikings players who should have more playing time in Week 2.
3. Dede Westbrook.
There was a great deal of buzz before the season about who would play behind Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson at WR3 for the Vikings. That question was clearly addressed in Week 1 as KJ Osborn had 67 of 83 total offensive snaps, while Dede Westbrook had just 15 and Ihmir Smith-Marsette had 4.
It would benefit Minnesota to have a more comparable split in between Osborn and Westbrook. It isnt that Osborn played inadequately– he actually played really well. He captured 7 of nine targets and ended with more backyards than Jefferson. He had some clutch catches and seemed poised throughout a hard video game, but Westbrook has a speed and volatility that could raise the Vikings offense that appeared slow against the Bengals.
Westbrook has nine career goals, 1,731 career receiving backyards, and averages 10.8 yards per reception given that signing up with the league in 2017. Those are strong numbers and excellent reason to give him the opportunity to make a larger impact versus Arizona. If he can make connections with Kirk Cousins, then the Vikings might simply have the ability to end up on the best side of an upset this week.
