UFC Vegas 31: Islam Makhachev dominates, submits Thiago Moises (Video)

Makhachev attempted to trap Moises right from the outset, bringing pressure and force Moises to combat in close. Neither guy opted for a takedown in the first five minutes, and Moises got a reasonable share of shots, but Makhachev controlled the round with body shots, especially in the Muay Thai clinch.
Makhachev got the much better of a kickboxing battle to open the second round, but the Khabib Nurmagomedov protege then handled to shoot in and ultimately get the takedown. Moises tried to reverse position, however Makhachev shook him off and got to Moises back, where he remained in control till entering mount and almost got an armbar prior to the horn.

Makhachev repeated his first-round method of pushing Moises on the feet before knocking him down on the mat. Makhachev tried to enter install but Moises went for a leg lock in the final 45 seconds of the third round.
Makhachev knocked Moises down as soon as again in the fourth and totally controlled the round before putting Moises away with a choke.

Following the battle, Makhachev put the 155-pound department on notice, stating the fighters in there cant run permanently. Makhachev also called out Rafael dos Anjos, who he was expected to combat in late 2020 before injuries nixed the bout.
