Nick Castellanos got himself into rather the circumstance over the weekend. The fact Castellanos did not physically begin the brawl doesn’t appear to matter to MLB. There would not have been a brawl Saturday if Molina just laughed off Castellanos responding in such a method.

What Castellanos did occurs all the time in the NBA and NFL. Castellanos appealed his suspension, however, it would be a surprise if MLB decides to take it away.

Nick Castellanos got himself into quite the circumstance over the weekend. He basically incited a brawl on his own by gazing and celebrating down St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Jake Woodford. Yadier Molina was not delighted and the pushing began.

Castellanos himself did not start any physical contact. However, MLB chose to slap him with a two-game suspension anyhow. The outspoken Trevor Bauer called out the league for its decision.

The fact Castellanos did not physically start the brawl does not appear to matter to MLB. They believe he prompted the league and the scenario likewise does not want teams congregating on the field like they did Saturday. COVID-19 has not magically vanished and the Washington Nationals are evidence of that.

But at what point does commemorate turn into a suspension? The batter still technically started the scenario if a pitcher strikes back for a bat flip. There would not have been a brawl Saturday if Molina just laughed off Castellanos responding in such away.

Bauer regularly calls out MLB and while that irritates some fans. It definitely isn’t hurting his bank account. The league has plenty of issues marketing top skill and preventing events that go along with that truth.

What Castellanos did happens all the time in the NBA and NFL. The distinction is that the benches don’t clear each time there is a minor run-in. And in hockey, they settle their issues with some fisticuffs.

Castellanos appealed his suspension, but it would be a surprise if MLB chooses to take it away. When COVID-19 protocols stay in the location, the league thinks he incited a brawl at a time. While Bauer has a point, this situation has some other consider play that makes a successful appeal hard.
