During San Diegos house opener versus the Arizona Diamondbacks, Tatis was close to being selected off in the beginning base by Christian Walker. That was when he took out a move straight out of the film “The Matrix” to prevent the tag and return securely to first.

Far, so great for one of the faces of professional baseball.
Tatis is coming off a 2019 project where he slashed.277/.366/.571 while recording 17 home runs, 45 RBI, 50 runs scored and 62 hits through 59 video games. The Padres rewarded Tatis with an enormous 14-year, $340 million contract this offseason to make him the highest paid shortstop in MLB history. That honor would only last a number of months, as the New York Mets signed Francisco Lindor to a 10-year, $341 million deal on Wednesday evening.
In Game 1 of 162, Tatis is currently dropping jaws with his play on the field.
