The theory is that the general public typically has a distorted or inflated view of the teams based upon hype or current games. They then perhaps inflate the line, or the line is inflated when it is provided in anticipation of the heavy public reaction.

Personally, I like the NE and Chicago play. The SF line was good when they were +12.5 at the start of the week. Now that they are +9.5, it is not appealing whatsoever.

You can use the public action report to either prevent wagering together with the public, or as some individuals do, utilize it to wager versus the general public.
